An Introduction to The Moéstrom

Posted November 2nd, 2009 by ETERNAL

Well, hey. Welcome to The Moéstrom, the latest of my cheesy moe puns. The goal? To provide a haphazard, miscellaneous stream of various moe-related images and thoughts. Since this is just a side project of my real anime blog, Memories of Eternity, there won’t be anything in-depth here. In fact, I think this would almost qualify as an image blog. I’ll try to keep the word count to a bare minimum, providing only the image source and perhaps a couple lines of thoughts. However, let me clear up any misconceptions before they arrive.

The Moéstrom is:

  • a place for me to post off-topic things, similarly to what some anime bloggers use Tumblr and their MAL blogs for.
  • a random collection of images that are not affiliated with me. Most will be from Danbooru, scanned or stolen by someone I’ve never met.
  • a series of episodic-esque impressions entries, except I’ll be focusing on the random moe-related thoughts that cross my mind.

The Moéstrom is not:

  • a gallery of scans. That’s icie’s job.
  • an image database. That’s the internet’s job.
  • an art site. I can’t draw!

In other words, this is pretty much just a casual side blog for me to talk about things that are too long to spam Twitter with but too short to make a blog post out of. However, that doesn’t mean that the site is only useful to me. While you shouldn’t expect anything with real substance here, you might stumble upon an image or artist that you like and do some research on them. Maybe you want to see the currently airing moe anime from a different, less critical perspective.

Or maybe you’re just here for the lulz. Who knows? Only time will tell what this place will turn into, but I’ve outlined my general goals above.

So, if you’re interested, hit the subscribe button. If not, no worries. You never know, you might just bump into this page on Google in a few months!
